The Cedar Lake School Forest contains six plant community areas native to Minnesota. Volunteers, in partnership with Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board natural areas staff, have embarked on a multi-year restoration effort to remove invasive species, nurture native plants, and gradually return each area to the ecological character found in this region before urban development forever altered the natural world.
